The Khoo Teck Puat Hospital Step Challenge was a wellness initiative designed to encourage participants to build healthier habits through daily walking, powered by seamless integration with both Fitbit devices and native smartphone pedometers.
Participants synced their wearable devices or mobile step counters to a digital platform that automatically tracked daily step counts in real time. These steps were converted into challenge progress, allowing users to compete in friendly rankings, unlock milestones, and stay motivated through continuous feedback and progress visibility.
The initiative saw strong engagement by removing friction in activity tracking and meeting users where they already were—whether using wearables or their phones. This case study demonstrates how effortless data integration with everyday devices can drive sustained participation in step-based wellness programs, making healthy living simple, measurable, and engaging.
